Our programming and design services are based on analyzing the project for general and special needs, assessing functional relationships, site constraints and primary physical requirements. We depend on owner and user involvement through design CHARETTES. These design CHARETTES are made up of school administrators, board members and staff to formulate ideas and write a building program. The program is analyzed and assembled with cost limitations and any additional related information. By using the comparative method of design, many concepts are developed and studied. Those which offer the most promise, based upon the programming criteria, are then refined and presented to the owner for final selection. We have had enthusiastic owner & user participation, resulting in excellent and innovative building projects.
KMA's proposed addition & remodel elementary plan was designed with educational philosophy and curriculum as a base with life safety and a nice environment to teach young students.
KMA's school is Type IIN construction, constructed of concrete, masonry structural unit, steel structure and roof. This construction provides a safe fire resistive structure when insulated, becoming energy effective throughout.
The State Board of Education and State Fire Marshal reviews have commented how energy efficient and safe KMA's elementary plan is due to the construction materials and design of the school.
